NC Triangle Alphas is a conglomerate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Chapters in the Triangle area. The Beta Theta Lambda chapter, seated in Durham, and the Phi Lambda Chapter seated in Raleigh. Combined, both chapters service Chatham, Durham, Johnston, and Wake counties. ​ Beta Theta Lambda was founded in 1938 and Phi Lambda in 1926 as alumni chapters of the nation’s oldest Black greek lettered service fraternal organization, Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc., founded in 1906 at Cornell University.
